CD Programme 1A: Introduction to Wastewater Systems for Decision Makers
Overall learning outcome of the programme: Decision makers are able to take an active role during planning and implementation of the wastewater infra-structure.
Specific learning outcomes of the Programme:
- To be able to make informed decisions on planning, preparation and implementation of wastewater collection and treatment projects in their LGU/PUC.
- To be able to outline key roles in preparation and implementation phases for infrastructure investments in wastewater collection and treatment

- Decision makers at the level of LGUs and PUCs:
- Municipal counsellors, members of the PUC’s Supervisory board;
- Mayors
- Management of PUCs

CD Programme 2A: Improvement of technical capacities of PUCs for O&M of WW Systems
Overall learning outcome of the Programme: To offer PUCs a comprehensive CD programme consisting of series of CD modules based on well- established national, regional and international courses and supplemented with peer exchange as well as collaborative internet (online) elements. Participants will be able to classify different wastewater systems and describe strategies to boost existing systems on an organisational and practical level.
Specific learning outcomes of the Programme:
- to perform operation and maintenance of wastewater systems with the necessary knowledge, skills, methods, and tools
- to evaluate the operation of wastewater systems and initiate and control operational enhancement
- to determine and perform new operational tasks in an effective, performance-oriented, and sustainable way
- to determine the challenges in operation and maintenance of wastewater systems
- to demonstrate their role and responsibilities in enabling sustainable wastewater collection and treatment for their citizens.
