Sarajevo, 5 November 2019 – The peer exchange will be focused on strengthening capacities of local government units (LGUs) and public utility companies (PUCs) based on the product developed by Aquasan Network in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
The peer exchange aims at enhancing knowledge of LGUs and PUCs about operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and particularly at improving understanding about factors that impede efficient WWTP operation and potentials for their removal and optimisation of WWTP operation.
The peer exchange is intended for LGUs and PUCs from BiH that operate WWTPs. This will create potentials for increasing WWTP portfolio and case studies on wastewater collection and treatment. The case study of Butile WWTP in Sarajevo will be presented during the peer exchange.
The peer exchange will be organised by the Association for Water and Environmental Protection “Aquasan Network in BiH” within the Project “Regional Capacity Development Network for Water and Sanitation Services (RCDN)”.
