Regional cooperation within the RCDN community continues to deliver tangible results, strengthening local capacities and driving innovative solutions in the water sector.
One of the most recent successes of RCDN is the WATERVILL project, developed with the joint efforts of RCDN partners. Selected among nearly 100 project proposals, WATERVILL focuses on improving access to water and increasing resilience to water scarcity in rural and mountain areas. The project stands out as an excellent example of how locally rooted associations, when regionally connected, can design EU-funded initiatives that directly respond to real community needs.
Building on this momentum, NALAS and IAWD recently gathered at an EU project development workshop to co-create two new innovative water projects. The initiatives will bring fresh perspectives and practical transnational solutions for water resilience in South-East Europe, further expanding the EU project portfolios of RCDN partners and strengthening long-term international partnerships.
The workshop brought together experts and representatives from NALAS Water Management Working Group and IAWD, who collaboratively shaped ideas for scalable solutions. Their work once again demonstrates RCDN’s role in empowering associations to lead on green and sustainable solutions, ensuring better public services and stronger advocacy based on real local challenges.
