AWM BOARD MEETING IN PLAV RESULTS IN CRUCIAL INITIATIVE FOR MONTENEGRO’S WATER SECTOR

On July 10, 2024, the 28th Board meeting of the Association of Waterworks of Montenegro (AWM) took place in the city of Plav. In response to the alarming challenges facing the sustainable functioning of service providers, the Position Paper titled “INITIATIVE, ENABLING ENVIRONMENT IN THE WATER SECTOR OF MONTENEGRO” was prepared and signed by all executive directors of AWM member companies. These members include entities involved in water supply, regional water supply, wastewater removal and treatment, as well as Vodacom.

The primary aim of this Initiative is to inform both stakeholders operating in the water sector and the general public about the current critical situation. Additionally, it proposes potential solutions aimed at creating an enabling environment that will ultimately reduce the negative impact on the quality of life for citizens, who are the end users of these services.

As a part of the RCDN support to AWM and their advocacy and policy dialogue efforts, this initiative aims to improve the quality of life for citizens and raise awareness on these important issues.
